Bell Huey Helicopter Viking Panel

The Viking Nose art was painted on Hueys from the 121st Assault Helicopter Company based at Soc Trang. There were several subtle variations between several Vikings painted onto Huey Noses. A picture of a Viking Huey in Vietnam is shown.

The Bell Huey model 205 "Iroquois" was used in many variants - principally the UH-1D and UH-1H. The main difference between the model D and H was the higher performance engine used in the H.

The Huey was used in Vietnam as Gunship; Troop Carrier "slick" and medical Evac as well as general maintenance.

This specific tail was from a UH-1D manufacturer under licence from Bell at Dornier in Germany. The data plate shows that this specific machine flew for the German Army from the 1970's onwards.

We have cut sections from the fuselage and have repainted them in Olive Drab-

This section has the original internal ribbing with flared holes to the top.

Once painted - we topcoat the panel with matt acrylic top coat to ensure it has a long life.

To the rear are two D-rings to allow it to be wall hung - if needed.

Vietnam US Army Bell Huey Gunship Crew Seat

This is a crew seat from a Bell UH-1M that was made in 1964 and served in Vietnam as a gunship with several units. We have the full history of the aircraft.

It was purchased in 1972 when the helicopter was returned to US and converted for use by the National Guard.

The red fabric seat covers was used by several Hueys in Vietnam and we have several pictures of aircraft with them.

This seat could be moved around the aircraft into several positions - from a door gunners seat to a middle seat etc.

The seat fabric has two small cuts that are stable and are not growing - it is 55 years old!

The seat is foldable and held together with quick release pins.

It has a part number printed on the back alongside the aircraft identity in marker.
The seat has claw feet that are designed to fit into the floor recesses in a Huey.
So we have acquired a section of Huey floor from Maine and made a base surround edge that supports it fully.

The floor section has the original grey paint on the top and green paint on the bottom along with Bell 205 part number.

This is the middle section of floor from the larger model 205 Huey. The dark line at the front is the demarkation to the cockpit.

The seat is now fully usable and robust. It can be folded down for transport.

The angled sections of the base means that it can be placed in a corner to turned around and placed between doors .

The seat can be removed by pressing the wire around the base collar and lifting the collar.

The chair can be repositioned on the four sockets in the floor in any direction.

The base is ca. 72 cm x 70 cm and weighs 4.5kg.
The chair weighs 5 kg.

When constructed the chair back is 102 cm above the base and the seat 39 cm above the base. The base is 2.5 cm thick.

It will come folded sitting on top of the base. With instructions for quick reassembly.

I cannot think of ever being a chair and floor section for sale in U.K.

A very rare item and with the history a very memorable item that can be used as a temporary seat, an occasional chair or as part of a Huey setting.

Vietnam Helicopter Cabinet Bell Huey Engine Cowl US Army

A cabinet made from a US Army Helicopter engine cowl found in Vietnam.

The cabinet has two hinged doors and a solid oak frame.

The two doors open 90 degrees outwards from the central spine.

The engine cowl was found in a farm at An-Khe in Vietnam - which was close to an active US Army Helicopter base.

The cabinet was brought back to UK and we purchased it.

The interior of the cowling still has teh original wiring and several parts marked with the Bell 205 part number for the Huey.

The Bell Huey was the main helicopter used in Vietnam by the US. Army.

We have made a custom frame from oak with an upper balcony shelf a lower sloped shelf and a middle shelf.

The Grey paint on the interior is 100% original. We have repainted the Olive Drab paint on the outside as it was showing many scratches from its loss, storage and transport.

The rear of the cabinet is made form a lattice of oak panels and painted aluminium rectangles.

The doors hinge open but are secured in place using magnets. There are two aluminium balls on the edges to use as handles.

It measures 128 cm high, 91.5 cm wide and 53.5 cm deep.

Each piece of the cabinet has been hand made to fit around the curved/sloping engine cowl.
The lower shelf has a 7 degree slope to fit the lower edge of the cowling.

Due to its size and weight it will have to come by carrier ( e.g. Shiply) or can be collected. UK delivery only.
